"For the longest time, everything was centralized," Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Robert Burke said. "We realized the growth is in the periphery. Patients really want to have their follow-ups and ancillary care as close to home as possible. Older patients especially hesitate to go downtown due to traffic and parking hassles."
The move to Shadow Creek Parkway also pairs the clinic with Fondren's first Ambulatory Surgery Center. Modern orthopedic care is increasingly shifting to outpatient surgical settings, driven by patient preferences for recovering at home and evolving insurance requirements that mandate certain procedures to be performed outside traditional acute-care hospitals.
