First Community Cares Foundation proudly hosted its Third Annual Golf Tournament, presented by First Community Credit Union, at the end of March, achieving a sold-out field of players all gathering focused on raising more funds to support the community. Held at the prestigious Golf Club of Houston-Championship Tournament Course, the tournament kicked off with an energetic 8:00 a.m. shotgun start, bringing together sponsors, community leaders and partners united in support of FCCF’s charitable missions.

The day began with a special appearance by First Community’s Spokesperson, PGA TOUR Professional Stephan Jaeger. Jaeger welcomed golfers at the opening tee and shared his appreciation for the cause, stating, “Seeing so many people come together to support such an important cause is truly inspiring.”

As participants made their way through the course, FCCF President and Chairman of the Board, Tijerina emphasized the growing impact of the tournament.

“Each year, this tournament continues to expand in both reach and impact,” said Tijerina. “This success reflects our deep commitment to our community. The generosity shown today will directly support our charitable initiatives and expand scholarship opportunities for students throughout the Greater Houston Area.”

Adding to the excitement, golfers had the opportunity to connect with FCCU Southern Texas PGA team member, Robert Scott of Royal Oaks Country Club, who engaged with participants throughout the day while celebrating the foundation’s continued investment in youth development and community engagement. Reflecting on the tournament’s success, Thomas Hutton, Executive Director of the STPGA, remarked, “It is inspiring to see sponsors and partners unite around a mission that truly strengthens the community.”

These partnerships are instrumental in expanding charitable initiatives, supporting local nonprofit organizations, and increasing scholarship opportunities for graduating high school seniors.

Jennifer Kilgore, FCCF Tournament Chair and Board Member, expressed pride in the tournament’s growth and impact. “I am incredibly proud of how far this tournament has grown in just three years,” Kilgore shared. “We look forward to growing our charitable programs and scholarship offerings.”
