For many pet owners, dogs are more than just pets—they're family. And when it comes to grooming or boarding, finding someone who treats them that way can make all the difference.
At Doggy Spa Ranch in Cypress, creating a comfortable, welcoming environment where dogs feel safe, loved and pampered has been the mission since the beginning.
The locally owned grooming and boarding business is entering an exciting new chapter, with plans to move its grooming services into a new Doggy Spa Grooming location on Huffmeister Road in late October.
The new location will offer more space, greater convenience and opportunities for growth while maintaining the personalized care that has earned Doggy Spa Ranch a loyal following.
How did Doggy Spa Ranch get its start?
Doggy Spa Ranch's journey began in 2008 when owners Aimee and James Englert launched a mobile grooming business out of a converted horse trailer. Since then, they have operated out of professional grooming vans, a home-based grooming studio during the pandemic and their current dedicated facility off Mueschke Road, where they introduced boarding services.
Recognizing that many pets feel anxious around unfamiliar people and environments, the Englerts approach grooming with patience and compassion, so dogs can go home feeling refreshed and just as happy as when they arrived.
"The main reason I call it Doggy Spa is because I'm trying to make a spa experience for the pets,” Aimee Englert said. “The experience I think we give them is a very at-home, friendly spa service where they can feel pampered by someone.”
What will Doggy Spa Grooming offer?
The new Doggy Spa Grooming salon will feature additional bathing stations, a more spacious reception area, comfortable seating and room to accommodate more groomers as the business grows.

The larger facility will also allow the team to serve more dogs while maintaining the personalized, attentive care that has become a hallmark of the business.
The salon’s open-concept design reflects the Englerts’ commitment to a low-stress environment for dogs and open communication with pet parents.
Large observation windows will allow customers to see dogs being groomed from the reception area, offering peace of mind and a firsthand look at the care their pets receive.
"We're not trying to hide,” James Englert said. “We're not trying to just take your dog and tell you, 'Come back on our terms.’”
Grooming options include full haircuts, spa baths, hydro-massage shampooing and conditioning, nail trimming, ear cleaning and teeth brushing.
How does Doggy Spa Ranch provide a comfortable boarding experience?
While grooming services are moving to the new salon, Doggy Spa Ranch's boarding services will remain at the original Cypress property.
For overnight stays at Doggy Spa Ranch, the business provides private, climate-controlled boarding suites with video monitoring, outdoor playtime and opportunities for socialization.
The intimate boarding environment has 10 accommodations, allowing dogs to enjoy activites in a familiar, home-like atmosphere. The team can also provide individualized attention.
"We're kind of the kennel mom and dad while they're here,” Aimee Englert said. “When they don't have their own mom and dad owner, they get to be with someone who cares about them as well."
To help owners feel connected while they're away, Doggy Spa Ranch also shares photos and videos of their dogs playing and enjoying their stay.
How has the Cypress community supported Doggy Spa Ranch's growth?
For nearly two decades, Doggy Spa Ranch has grown largely through word-of-mouth recommendations from loyal customers who trust the Englerts with their pets.
As Doggy Spa Grooming prepares to open its new location, the Englerts are especially excited to welcome those longtime customers into a larger, more convenient space.
With easier access, improved parking and a more comfortable reception area, the new salon is an opportunity to give back to the customers who have supported the business through every stage of its growth.
"I have so many clients that have just been so encouraging and so proud of us …," Aimee Englert said. "We keep growing, we keep making little bitty steps, and it's all because of them."
While the new location will introduce Doggy Spa Grooming to more Cypress-area pet owners, the Englerts hope longtime customers will feel the same warmth, familiarity and personal attention they've come to expect.
