For more than 30 years, C & C Dental has cared for generations of Sugar Land families with a simple philosophy that patients should feel like people, not numbers.
The locally owned dental practice has served Sugar Land since 1993 and welcomes patients from every stage of life, from babies to older adults. Owners Dr. Teresa Cody and her husband, Dr. Tim Cashion, have built the practice around developing long-term patient relationships while providing a wide range of dental services in one place.
Their philosophy shows in C & C Dental’s Dental Savings Plan, designed to make routine care more accessible and help keep the community healthy by providing patients with an affordable, subscription-style alternative to traditional dental insurance.

What makes C & C Dental different from other dental practices?
C & C Dental is independently owned rather than part of a corporate dental group, allowing its team to spend time getting to know patients and their individual needs. Some staff members have remained with the practice for decades, including hygienists who have spent 30 years or more caring for its patients.
For Dr. Cody, relationships and continuity of care are an important part of dentistry.
“I want to get to know the patient and develop a relationship because that's all we have in this world,” she said. “That is why I think we have so many long-term patients is because they know us and we know them.”

Those relationships extend to patient comfort. Dr. Cody understands firsthand that visiting the dentist can be intimidating. After experiencing uncomfortable dental care as a child, she has prioritized creating a welcoming environment and making treatment as comfortable as possible.
Why did C & C Dental create a Dental Savings Plan?
C & C Dental developed its Dental Savings Plan in part to give patients another option to get care. Over the years, the doctors noticed a challenge among longtime patients—some would retire, lose employer-sponsored dental benefits and suddenly have to reconsider how they would pay for care.
Dr. Cashion describes the plan as a subscription-style program rather than insurance. Patients pay a one-time sign-up fee followed by monthly payments. Separate plans are available for children, dependent youth and adults.

“We have a lot of loyal patients that have been with us 25 and 30 years,” Dr. Cashion said. “This was a way for us to give back to them, to give them a way to continue.”
He also noted that kids can experience significant changes between ages 7 and 12, but traditional insurance may limit how frequently certain X-rays are covered. With the Dental Savings Plan, the practice can take necessary X-rays based on a child’s needs rather than an insurance company’s timeline.
While the plan can be especially useful for people without dental insurance, Dr. Cody said some insured patients also choose the savings plan after comparing their options, as some dental insurance plans may deny treatment for some procedures.

What does the C & C Dental Savings Plan include?
Depending on the plan, members receive routine exams, two routine cleanings and necessary X-rays. The plan also includes unlimited emergency visits, one oral cancer screening per year, fluoride treatments when indicated and free whitening trays.
Members can receive additional discounts on services, including
$500 off Invisalign treatment
10% off crowns, veneers, dentures, partials, implants and gum treatment
15% off additional cleanings, dental sealants, fillings, extractions, root canals and night guards
Preventive care is at the heart of the program. The goal is to give patients an incentive to stay consistent with cleanings and exams rather than waiting until a problem develops.

“The best thing you can do for your teeth is to keep up with the preventive cleanings; they do truly prevent problems down the road,” Dr. Cashion said. “So, this gives people a good incentive to keep up on that, and that's truly the healthiest thing you can do for your teeth and your gums, but also for your body.”
Poor oral health can affect other parts of the body, Dr. Cody said. She said research has examined a potential connection between gum disease and heart disease, for example. C & C Dental’s Dental Savings Plan aims to make prevention of those issues accessible and affordable.
Who can benefit from the Dental Savings Plan?
The Dental Savings Plan is available for all of C & C Dental’s patients.
The practice can review the savings plan with new patients and help them understand whether it makes sense for their situation. Dr. Cody also encourages people who already have employer-sponsored dental insurance to compare the costs and benefits rather than assuming insurance is automatically their best option.
The program reflects the same goal that has guided C & C Dental for decades: to make it easier for patients to receive care tailored to their needs and maintain their oral health.

“We really focus on how to make dentistry okay. People are maybe never going to love it …,” Dr. Cody said. “We know dentistry's hard, and we try to make it better.”
For a practice that has watched children grow up, longtime patients retire and generations of families return year after year, the Dental Savings Plan offers another way to keep those relationships going.

Depending on the plan selected, benefits include routine exams, two routine cleanings, necessary X-rays, unlimited emergency visits, an annual oral cancer screening and fluoride treatments when indicated. Who can benefit from C & C Dental’s Dental Savings Plan?
The plan can be particularly helpful for patients without dental insurance, including retirees who have lost employer-sponsored coverage. However, C & C Dental encourages patients who do have insurance to compare their existing benefits with the savings plan to determine which option works best for them.
Why does C & C Dental emphasize preventive dental care?
Dr. Teresa Cody considers consistent preventive care one of the most important ways patients can protect their teeth and gums and potentially prevent more significant problems later.
