What services does America’s ER + Urgent Care offer?

America’s ER + Urgent Care offers both urgent care and emergency services under one roof, eliminating the need for patients to determine whether they need emergency care or an urgent care facility before arriving.

To evaluate and treat a wide range of medical conditions, the Cypress facility is equipped with:

  • X-rays, MRIs, ultrasounds and CT imaging

  • A 24-hour on-site laboratory

  • A trauma room

  • A dedicated Pediatric Room

The emergency room is staffed by board-certified ER physicians and highly trained trauma-certified nurses. In addition, their nurse practitioners, under the direction and management of their physicians, help decrease wait times by caring for urgent care patients.

Both the emergency room and the urgent care clinic are open 24/7, 365 days a year, including holidays. This round-the-clock availability is especially beneficial for individuals who need convenient care outside of standard primary care doctor and urgent care hours without delaying treatment and want to avoid long waits in traditional hospital-based ERs. Their patients can rest assured that, regardless of whether they are seen in the ER or the urgent care, they receive the same top-tier service.

How does the treatment process work?

When a patient presents with life-threatening symptoms, such as chest pain or trouble breathing, they are immediately taken back into the ER and evaluated by a board-certified ER physician. Patients without life-threatening conditions go through a quick 5-minute registration process and are evaluated by a physician who reviews their symptoms, vital signs and medical history to determine the appropriate level of care.

Being able to provide the community both ER and Urgent Care services under one roof is important because patients and families may not always recognize when a seemingly minor symptom could be something more serious. Director of marketing Tami Legendre experienced this firsthand when she brought her daughter to the facility for a stomachache. Following a CT scan, doctors discovered her daughter needed an emergency appendectomy and was able to be quickly transferred to a local operating room for emergent surgery to remove her appendix and save her life.

Direct transfers like these are possible because of the facility’s strong relationships with private EMS services and local hospitals, including centers of excellence for stroke, cardiac and trauma care.

How does the team put patients at ease?

Throughout the treatment process, compassionate care remains a priority.

“Our Google reviews consistently mention the compassionate care patients received, and how they felt heard and cared for. These days, this can be a lost art in emergency situations,” Legendre said. “We are aware that patients and their families come to us during some of their most vulnerable moments. They can be overwhelmed with emotions and worried about themselves or loved ones, and our staff is trained to offer compassion and grace, and I think that goes a long way, and the community notices it.”

This thoughtful care extends to the physical environment as well, with its comforting, ocean-themed pediatric room designed to put both children and adults at ease.

All of this combined earned the facility three community-voted awards for Best ER in 2024, and both Best ER and Best Urgent Care in 2025 and 2026 from a nationally recognized news outlet.

How does America’s ER keep treatment accessible?

We process all claims through all major insurance plans, and for those without insurance or who are concerned about cost, America’s ER + Urgent Care offers cash pay-in-full discounts and payment plans through AblePay, so patients can minimize cash flow interruptions and pay their bill over time.

Additionally, Legendre emphasized that due to federal law and the No Surprise Act, patients don’t need to delay emergency care due to uncertainty about whether the emergency room is in network.

She said that federal regulations and the No Surprise Act require insurance companies to process emergency medical claims at the patient's in-network benefit level regardless of whether they are in network or out of network with the facility. This makes it against the law for an insurance company to refuse to pay their emergency room bill.

How does the facility serve the community beyond medical care?

Beyond medical care, for over a decade, America’s ER has sponsored local schools, teams, local and international charities, and a host of countless community events. In addition, they also regularly host blood and school supply drives, conduct CPR and first-aid education for thousands, and are the largest collection center in Montgomery County for Toys for Tots every year since 2014.

“At America’s ER, we don't want to be known only as the place that offers high-quality, compassionate care; we want to be known as a trusted community partner that genuinely invests in the health, safety and well-being of the people and families we serve,” Legendre said.

Open every day of the year, including holidays, it offers both ER and urgent care services under one roof, staffed by board-certified ER physicians, highly trained registered nurses and nurse practitioners who assist in seeing urgent care patients.

The facility has served the community for more than 12 years and earned community-voted awards for Best ER and Best Urgent Care in 2023-26.

Do I need to know whether I need the ER or urgent care before I arrive?

No. Patients are evaluated by a board-certified physician on arrival who reviews symptoms, vital signs and medical history to determine the appropriate level of care. The same medical team staffs both the ER and Urgent Care, so patients receive the appropriate level of care without having to decide in advance.

How does the payment process work?

Federal and Texas state law requires insurance companies to process emergency medical claims at the patient's in-network benefit level when the visit is deemed an emergency, so patients should never delay care because of concern over being out of network. For those without insurance, America's ER offers cash-pay options with pay-in-full discounts and payment plans through AblePay.
