As the holiday season approaches, local pet owners are preparing for travel and family gatherings—and Kuri Pet Resort is getting ready alongside them. Six months after opening, the resort is expanding its services to make holiday pet care simpler and less stressful.

Owner Robyn Leenaerts shared three major updates Kuri Pet Resort is rolling out ahead of the holiday rush:

1. Kuri Pet Resort now offers full-service grooming

Kuri initially opened with bathing and nail services but has since added a groomer, allowing the resort to offer full Bath & Cut appointments. The service includes a customized haircut based on the dog’s coat, breed and needs, along with coat-appropriate shampoo, drying, brushing, ear cleaning and finishing touches.

For dogs that do not need a full haircut, Kuri also offers Bath & Shine services for routine bathing and grooming, as well as Bath & De-Shed appointments designed to remove loose undercoat and reduce shedding.

“Our groomer works at a comfortable pace with a select number of dogs each day,” Leenaerts said. “She’s incredibly patient and skilled at keeping dogs calm and relaxed. This creates a positive, low-stress experience where the output speaks for itself.”

Kuri publishes its grooming prices online, giving owners a clearer idea of costs and service options before booking.

Kuri Pet Resort is offering 10% off Bath & Cut grooms and 5% off Bath & Shine services through Nov. 30, 2026 when readers mention Community Impact.

2. Kuri Pet Resort expands care options for dogs with different needs

Recognizing that group play is not right for every dog, Kuri Pet Resort offers Solo-Stays for dogs that may be more comfortable with individualized care during boarding. Located in a quieter area of the resort, Solo-Stays are designed for:

  • Unaltered dogs past puppyhood

  • Senior dogs that prefer a calm, quiet environment

  • Anxious or sensitive dogs that thrive with more individualized attention

Dogs in Solo-Stays receive one-on-one play sessions with staff and enrichment activities such as treat puzzles.

Kuri has also built a new Little’s Yard, a scaled-down play space with miniature furniture designed specifically for smaller breeds.

“Our motto is to meet every dog where they are,” Leenaerts said. “No two dogs are the same, and our job is to set every pet up for success.”

3. Kuri Pet Resort is hosting holiday events for pets

Kuri is bringing local pets and their families together with several seasonal events:

  • Day camp costume party—Oct. 29: Dogs attending day camp can come dressed in costume and participate in a festive photo session and a Pupchino treat. Owners will receive a themed photo to take home.

  • “Thankful Bones” shelter drive—November: Clients can write a message on a “Thankful Bone” and contribute food or monetary donations benefiting local animal welfare organizations, including PALS and the SPCA.

  • Santa Paws photos—first weekend of December: This free community event will feature complimentary photos with Santa Claus, hot cider and cocoa for the humans and Pupchinos for the pups.

Kuri Pet Resort also plans to introduce Stay-and-Train programs ahead of peak holiday travel dates.

When should pet owners book holiday boarding?

With the holidays approaching, Leenaerts recommends booking a pet’s stay as soon as travel plans are confirmed.

“As soon as you book your flight or decide on the day you’re leaving, it should be the day that you’re booking the boarding,” she said.

Booking early can help families secure not only a space during busy travel periods but also the suite and care setup that best fits their dog. That can be especially important for owners seeking Solo-Stays, individualized care or other accommodations during peak holiday dates.
