A construction contract with Austin Traffic Signal Construction was approved by City Council in December for a traffic light at the intersection of West Gate Boulevard and Davis Lane. The city's transportation department said construction on the light began Jan. 24. The signal is currently under construction and is estimated to be completed and fully operational by the end of April.
