According to the Texas Department of Transportation, a project to widening Manchaca Road from Ravenscroft Drive to FM 1626 is proposed to improve mobility and connectivity and to provide additional roadway capacity to meet the future traffic demands of the population growth. The 1.14 mile project would widen Manchaca Road from two lanes to four lanes with a center turn lane, construct bicycle lanes and sidewalks and improve drainage along the road. TxDOT hosted an open house in February to give residents a chance to review and comment on the proposed project. Comments were accepted through March 6. TxDOT will compile and consider community input from the open house and a later public hearing as project designs are finalized. Environmental clearance is anticipated in summer 2018.
