Update: All Austin low water crossings are now open. Road closures amid the heavy rainfall in Austin this weekend are largely concentrated in Northwest Austin, along Spicewood Springs Road and off Parmer Lane and MoPac. The Austin area received between 2 and 9 inches of rain since Hurricane Harvey made landfall on the Texas coast Friday, according to the National Weather Service. Another 2 to 4 inches are projected for the next 24 hours, in addition to 5 to 10 inches through Wednesday, the agency said. No immediate threat of severe flooding exists, but the Austin-Travis County Emergency Operations Center continues to monitor weather conditions. The center advises to avoid driving and to call 3-1-1 if one sees debris as well as flashing or nonfunctioning traffic signals. Regional transit provider Capital Metro remains in operation Sunday.
