New restaurant District Kitchen + Cocktails will hold a grand opening Nov. 15 at 4 p.m. at 5900 W. Slaughter Lane, Ste. D-500.
Chef and owner Amir Hajimaleki said the contemporary American grill, which had a soft opening in October, will offer a rotating seasonal menu as well as wine, craft cocktails and beers. Menu items of note include the truffle prosciutto flatbread with local honey and goat cheese, as well as the Nawlins shrimp and grits featuring maple bacon grits and a New Orleans-style barbecue sauce, he said. District Kitchen will source ingredients from local farms and businesses whenever it can, he said.
"It's directly from them, so you get the freshest product possible from farm to table," he said.
Hajimaleki, originally from Iran, said his first restaurant has Japanese, Cajun, Middle Eastern and French influences. Hours: Mon.–Thurs. 4–11 p.m. Fri. 11 a.m.–midnight. Sat. 10:30 a.m.–midnight. Sun. 10:30 a.m.–10 p.m. 512-351-8455. www.districtaustin.com Twitter: @districtaustin1
