At the June 5 Travis County Commissioners Court meeting commissioners received information during a public hearing on the re-subdivision of a lot in Travis Vista near Steiner Ranch. The proposed plat effects an existing lot in the Hughes Park Lake Subdivision and land from a lot to be vacated for a total of 0.30 acres. Travis County Transportation and Natural Resources received four e-mails from neighbors objecting to the re-subdivision application, according to court documents. The residents expressed concerns about the potential height of a proposed house on the new lot and that it may block their views of the lake. “There were a few concerns from local residents, but I believe they were addressed,” Commissioner Brigid Shea said. The proposal meets all Title 30 requirements for Austin/Travis County subdivision regulations and was approved at the City of Austin Zoning and Platting Commission meeting on May 15. The commissioners voted 4-0 in favor of the proposed development. County Judge Sarah Eckhardt was absent from the meeting, and Commissioner Margaret Gomez presided in her place. Commissioner Gerald Daugherty participated by videoconference.
