Bao’d Up is planning to open a restaurant mid-September at 5207 Brodie Lane, Ste. 115, Sunset Valley. The Austin-based restaurant serves traditional Chinese bao—steamed buns filled with meats, veggies and beans—and Guabao—Taiwanese burgers as well as rice and noodle bowls. According to the restaurant, its mission is to introduce bao to Americans and encourage healthy eating. Bao’d Up opened a shop in June near the University of Texas, and has operated another location for two years in Mueller. www.baodup.com
