700 homes now for sale in Dripping Springs’ new Big Sky Ranch community

Under development since 2018, Meritage Homes has officially started to sell homes in its Big Sky Ranch community, according to a July 8 news release by the developer.

Located in Dripping Springs near Founders Memorial Park, the community will include about 700 single-family homes at build-out, with prices starting at about $260,000, according to Meritage. Homes in Big Sky Ranch are from 1,637-3,448 square feet and include 21 different designs.

Marketing manager Sheridan Burnett told Community Impact Newspaper that the project opened its first model homes to tours in April, and in June two individuals closed on homes, the first units sold in the community.

Community amenities will include a 3-acre community center with a pool and splash pad, five parks, and trails that connect to Founders Memorial Park.

“The proximity of this project to the core city limits of Dripping Springs will encourage future residents to walk to destinations like our downtown historic districts, Founders Memorial Park and other retail establishments within walking distance,” said Ginger Faught, deputy city manager for Dripping Springs, in the news release.

According to Matthew Scrivener, the vice president of land development for Meritage Homes, the developer will also be making improvements to parking and fencing at Founders Memorial Park.
