Dripping Springs ISD earned 98 out of 100 possible points in the Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas, or FIRST. The 2025-26 report utilizes data from fiscal year 2024-25 and indicates a two-point decrease from last year.
How it works
The FIRST system is how the Texas Education Agency rates the financial accountability of all public school districts in the state. Scores are based on 21 indicators, with four critical indicators that will result in automatic failure if not met, according to previous Community Impact reporting.
The 21 indicators analyze:
Compliance with audit reporting
Timely debt and employee-benefit-related payments
Healthy fund balance levels and activity
Relationship of revenues to expenditures
Accuracy of student attendance estimates and consistency of staff ratios
Looking back
Last year, DSISD earned 100 out of 100 possible points. This year, the district earned eight out of 10 points for indicator eight, which measures whether the assets-to-liabilities ratio is sufficient to cover short-term debt.
