In January, Dripping Springs ISD officials announced a community information series, Taxpayer Tuesdays, with the goal of inviting community members to learn about student programs as well as district operations and finances.
For the 2023-24 school year, district leaders will host eight Taxpayer Tuesdays, held on the first Tuesday of every month with the exception of March.
Each Taxpayer Tuesday will focus on a different topic, and presentations made during these events will be recorded and made available online.
Topics will include, in order:
- The board of trustees governance
- School finance
- Recapture
- Career and technical education and special funding
- Facilities and bond update
- Demographics and growth
- Operations
- Budgeting
Each Taxpayer Tuesday will begin at 9:30 a.m. and last until 11 a.m. Attendees are encouraged to reserve a space in the meeting and arrive by 9:15 a.m. to receive a visitor’s badge.
The dates and locations for the 2023-24 Taxpayer Tuesdays are as follows:
- Sept. 5 at the Center for Learning and Leadership, 300 Sportsplex Drive, Dripping Springs
- Oct. 3 at Rooster Springs Elementary School, 1001 Belterra Drive, Ste. 4631, Austin
- Nov. 7 at Dripping Springs Middle School, 111 Tiger Lane, Dripping Springs
- Dec. 5 at Dripping Springs High School, 940 Hwy. 290, Dripping Springs
- Jan. 9 at Dripping Springs Elementary School, 29400 RR 12, Dripping Springs
- Feb. 6 at Sycamore Springs Elementary School and Sycamore Springs Middle School, 11451 Sawyer Ranch Road, Austin
- April 2 at Cypress Springs Elementary School, 11091 Darden Hill Road, Driftwood
- May 7 at Walnut Springs Elementary School, 113 Tiger Lane, Dripping Springs
