Crux Climbing Center officially debuted its newest location in South Austin on May 5.
The details
The new climbing facility features:
- 48-foot-tall climbing walls, which are about 20 feet taller than in the original South location
- Rope climbing
- Bouldering
- Strength training, fitness and yoga spaces
- Locker rooms and saunas
- A kids area
- An elevator with access for adaptive climbers
- Wellness space with recovery
- Remote work pods
- Outdoor turf space
“Opening Switchback was a natural extension of what we’ve built at Crux,” Crux and Switchback co-founder Grace Nicholas said in a news release. “We wanted a space where people could gather, work and unwind, before or after time in the gym.”
