Good Vibrations Pizza Company
The family-owned pizza trailer has permanently opened at Vacancy Brewing. Owned and operated by husband-and-wife duo Austin and Megan Smith, the pizza trailer first opened on the back patio of King Bee cocktail bar and also served pizza at pop-up events around Austin. The menu features pizzas like the “Sweet Heat,” topped with hot Italian sausage, pickled jalapenos and hot honey.
Kam's Clothiers & Tux ShopThe tuxedo rental service is owned and operated by Kam Dadlani who has worked in the men’s clothing industry for over 30 years. Dadlani’s experience comes from his time owning a men's formal and businesswear store in Connecticut and working in the men’s department at Nordstrom. Kam’s Clothiers & Tux Shop offers personalized tailoring services for its custom and ready-made suits, tuxedos and shoe rentals and accessories like belts and socks.
Apollo VeterinaryWimberley-based veterinary clinic opened its second location in far South Austin. Operated by veterinarians Robin Allen and Claire Landwehr, Apollo Veterinary provides “fear-free work” for dogs and cats, including x-rays, dental care, surgeries, pet dermatology, spay and neuter services, end-of-life care and more.
The Bougie FoodieBrianna Cryar, the owner of the former dessert trailer of the same name, has moved the business into its first brick-and-mortar location. The Bougie Foodie serves a variety of desserts like gourmet Rice Krispies treats and caramel bars. Cryar said the two bestsellers are the Choco Chip Cookie Mountain, a six-ounce cookie, and Mimi's Boozy Bread Pudding, made with a brandy sauce.
Young Chefs AcademyThe youth culinary school is locally owned by husband and wife Jim and Sarah Gagliardi, who also own Young Chefs Academy San Antonio. The school has classrooms—or kitchens—with cooking equipment for weekly classes, workshops, camps and parties.
SquareRüt Kava BarThe kava bar opened in the historic Old Rock Store on Hwy. 290, previously Madrone Coffee Co. Kava is a traditional Polynesian root beverage used for enhancing relaxation and promoting well-being without causing drowsiness or intoxication. With other locations in Belterra and North Austin, SquareRüt Kava Bar serves various kava beverages.
Coming SoonTaste of Home Handmade Dumplings
A North Austin-based restaurant will open near Jaipur Palace at Southpark Meadows around the Lunar New Year. The restaurant will serve homemade dumplings and a variety of rice, noodle, stir-fry and veggie dishes.
Global FoodlandThe new grocery store in South Austin will offer halal products including fresh meat and bakery items.

Culture ClubEl Paso restaurateur Justin Knoch will open a classic-rock-themed bar and restaurant in a retail development center on Menchaca Road. Culture Club will offer beer, cocktails, pizza and wings and feature vintage pinball machines, a large outdoor patio with TVs, ping pong tables and other lawn games.

The South Austin boutique will celebrate its 15th anniversary in October. C’est Chic! is owned by Jeanne Cooper and Melissa Greenwell and sells jewelry, home decor, women's clothing, baby items, gifts, accessories and more.
Chic-fil-AThe fast food restaurant’s Southpark Meadows location temporarily closed for renovations on Aug. 16. According to a social media post, renovations will include restructuring the dining room and improving behind-the-scenes areas for drive-thru and delivery services. The restaurant’s play area will be removed to expand the dining area, and the location is slated to reopen in mid-September.
Tancho SushiA new sushi restaurant is slated to open in Lantana Place, according to permits filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Registration.

ClosingsAviary Wine & Kitchen
The South Austin eatery closed after 18 years of business. The business offered an extensive wine list and wine club. Owner Mike Smith of the Hearth and Counter hospitality group, who helped stave off Aviary's closure last year, cited financial pressures including high commercial rents as factors behind the closure.
Giddy UpsThe dive bar in far South Austin closed in early August after announcing its closure in a June social media post. According to the post, the Giddy Ups owners are searching for a new location. The bar and live music venue has been a hub for socializing and seeing local artists for over 25 years, according to the business' website.
St. Benedict Coffee CompanyThe coffee shop located inside Stony’s Pizza in Oak Hill closed after opening in July. This was the business’ first brick-and-mortar location. The St. Benedict Coffee Company truck at Springdale Station in East Austin will still operate.
