CASA of Travis County works to increase awareness, partners with Kerbey Lane

Volunteers are meant to be a voice for the children as well as a constant in a child’s life during a difficult and hectic time, Kozma explained, adding that last year the organization served an estimated 1,000 children with around 600 advocate volunteers.

“One of the exciting things about a partnership with a company like Kerbey Lane is honestly just brand awareness,” Kozma said. “Letting the community know that there's an organization like ours out there, in hopes that maybe someone—who is maybe grabbing pancakes at Kerbey Lane on a Saturday morning—maybe this is the time that they finally see CASA and they say, ‘You know what? I am at a point in my life where I can serve as a CASA volunteer now, and I can advocate for kids.'”

Kozma said the need for volunteers is always present. She also noted there are several ways for people to become involved in the organization.

“Going to your local Kerbey Lane and just ordering a stack of pancakes is a really easy way to help CASA,” she said.

The Austin company partners with local nonprofits quarterly through its Kerbey Kindness program.
