On Feb. 22, National Margarita Day, Austinites can enjoy a variety of margaritas—from classic to frozen, spicy, or more unique creations, such as one made with Big Red. Check out these 10 options throughout the area.
The Spanish tapas restaurant will offer a clarified watermelon margarita, featuring tequila and mezcal, watermelon puree syrup, lime juice, triple sec or orange liqueur, simple syrup and whole milk for clarification.

Taco Cabana will introduce its newest margarita made with Big Red, which guests can buy as a single serving, a margarita yard or as a gallon. A limited-time combo with two barbacoa tacos and the new margarita will be available as well.
Uncle Nicky’s will have the Frozen Italian ‘Rita for $7 all day and $5 during happy hour from 2-5 p.m. The Frozen Italian ‘Rita features Tequila 512, Luxardo Triplum Triple Sec and Sangue Morlacco, mixed with a cherry floater.
The team at Z'Tejas, known for its variety of house margaritas, will offer seasonal margarita carts to guests at all locations. Some of the featured margaritas include the Jalapeno Cucumber, made with housemade spicy tequila, agave, jalapeno, cucumber and lime juice; and the Grand Diamante, made with Dobel Diamante tequila, Grand Marnier, agave and lime juice.

Situated at The Ruby Hotel, The Ruby Bar will offer a margarita flight made with four specialty flavors, including blood orange, chili-infused spicy, mezcal and mango—each dressed according to its flavor. Food specials will include elote deviled eggs, mole chicken wings, queso macaroni and cheese, pulled-pork street tacos, and chipotle chicken nachos, which will be $2 off.
