Local Antonia Calabrese opened social-emotional learning play school The Bloom Room in mid-January.
The Bloom Room Play School is designed for children ages 3-6 with a curriculum targeted at problem-solving, independence, empathy, friendship skills and emotional regulation.
"When a family enrolls their child, the weekly support group, run by a licensed therapist and their child's play school teacher, is also included," said Tammer Aboughalyoun, spokesperson for the school.
Instructors use a combination of techniques, such as yoga, mindfulness and play therapy, to set children up for lifelong success, Aboughalyoun said.
