Lake Austin staple Hula Hut is maintaining its operations, with some new additions, after an ownership change on Jan. 15.
The tiki-themed waterfront eatery and bar has been serving offerings based around Hawaiian and Tex-Mex influences since the mid-1990s. Hula Hut's overall menu is staying the same under new owners Union Venture Group, although some food items are now being made with different, higher-quality ingredients, according to management. The hut is also mixing specialty cocktails in new themed vessel options.
Other changes made this year include a redesigned entry area, a new merch shop and refurbished seating and bar features.
Union Venture's other concepts around Austin include Wonder Bar, Maverick's Dance Hall, The Rose Room and Jack & Ginger's.
