183A Toll 5.3-mile extension to bring congestion relief with April 9 opening

A new 5.3-mile stretch of the 183A Toll from Hero Way in Leander to Hwy. 29 in Liberty Hill is set to open to traffic April 9.

The road is part of the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority’s 183A Phase 3 project, which extends the existing 10-mile 183A Toll northward, according to the Mobility Authority’s website.

Heirloom Georgetown developers expect early 2026 groundbreaking, seek City Council input

A master-planned community called Heirloom Georgetown is making strides in Georgetown almost one year after the project was first proposed to council members in April 2024.

Officials with Columnar Investments, the developer, expect to break ground on the roughly 620-acre project early 2026, Executive Director John Landwehr said in an email to Community Impact.

Round Rock to consider out-of-service water agreement for new church

Round Rock City Council will consider providing out-of-city water service to a property in its extraterritorial jurisdiction at a meeting April 10. The site, planned for a new church, is within Round Rock's Certificate of Convenience and Necessity, the geographical area in which the city can provide utility services.

Comedy club opens inside existing New Braunfels restaurant

A new comedy club named Tom's Comedy Club opened within the existing Tommy John's Tailgate restaurant at the beginning of March.

Tom's Comedy Club holds weekly comedy shows on Friday and Saturday with open mic nights on Tuesday. Patrons attending a show can also order food and drinks from the restaurant's menu.

City of Schertz increases water, wastewater impact fees to new properties

Schertz City Council approved an increase to its water and wastewater impact fees for new properties April 1.

Water and wastewater impact fees are collected from new developments once a building permit is issued, which helps fund new construction and facility expansion, according to agenda documents.
