Median home sale prices rose in Cedar Park and far Northwest Austin in April year over year. Home prices in the area sold at a median price of $521,183 in April, up from $485,000 the same month in 2024.
TxDOT narrows scope of Hwy. 71 Safety Improvement Project in Bee Cave
The Texas Department of Transportation has agreed to update plans for its Hwy. 71 median project in Bee Cave, removing proposed medians near the Hill Country Galleria to prevent traffic disruptions.
The project was designed by TxDOT to improve road safety and reduce crashes by implementing medians on a stretch of Hwy. 71 in Bee Cave. It has been adjusted to exclude construction in the downtown region of Bee Cave between Hamilton Pool Road and Uplands Ridge Drive.
Austin ISD breaks ground on modernization of Northeast Early College, International high schools
Construction work is officially underway to modernize Northeast Early College High School and International High School—a 70-year-old campus in Northeast Austin.
By January 2028, the joint schools are slated to receive new academic and administrative buildings, community and mental health centers as well as athletics renovations and expansions.
Hutto postpones annexation of Limmer Square
Hutto City Council postponed the annexation and creation of a public improvement district for Limmer Square, a proposed 111-acre development, at its May 15 meeting. The action follows the council’s adoption of the development agreement for Limmer Square on April 17.

Feels So Good splits into two locations amidst rent increase
Feels So Good, the Austin-based custom screen printing shop and retailer, has split into two new locations for its retail offerings and screen printing production services.
The business was previously located at 211 E. Alpine Road, Austin, but has relocated its retail products to East Austin and its production facilities to North Austin.

Georgetown, DPS offers safety tips as temperatures rise in May
During the week of May 12, some cities in Central Texas—including Austin—saw triple-digit temperatures, according to the National Weather Service.
At a May 13 news conference, Austin officials noted mid-May is the earliest the city has seen triple-digit temperatures in about 40 years.
While temperatures rise, the city of Georgetown and the Texas Department of Public Safety offered residents tips to keep people and pets safe throughout the summer.
