Home sales rise as prices dip in San Marcos, Buda, Kyle in October

Year-over-year home sales in the San Marcos-Buda-Kyle market increased in October, according to data from the Austin Board of Realtors.

As more homes were sold, median home prices across the market dipped. The average number of days homes spent on the market also increased year over year.

The number of home sales in Kyle ZIP code 78640 increased the most by nearly 37%, with 36 more homes sold this October compared to last year. Buda ZIP code 78610 sold the least amount of homes with 55 closings.

Median home prices decreased, with prices in Buda dipping the most by just over 16%, going from $430,000 to just under $360,000.

The majority of homes in the market—182—were sold between the $300,000 and $499,999 price range in October. There was also:

• 1 home sold for $900,000 or more
• 5 homes sold between $700,000 and $899,999
• 31 homes sold between $500,000 and $699,999
• 45 homes sold for $299,999 or less

Homes also lingered on the market longer this October. Homes in Buda stayed on the market for nearly a month and a half, while homes in Kyle and San Marcos ZIP code 78666 sat for over two and a half months.
