San Marcos City Council voted unanimously Dec. 2 in favor of the distribution of a total of $500,000 in social services funding to 22 San Marcos organizations. The money will be sourced from the fiscal year 2020-21 city budget.
Awarded organizations must serve San Marcos residents, but not all were based in San Marcos, according to Interim Finance Director Victoria Runkle.
The Southside Community Center will receive the largest sum, with a distribution of $78,000, followed by the Hays Caldwell Women's Center, with $63,000, and the Greater San Marcos Youth Council, with $57,000.
