A sewing hobbyist, Barbara Jacobs was hooked on the bridal business after helping out with a friend's wedding.

What started as a labor of love for the Air Force veteran is now a one-stop shop in Buda for her customers' wedding needs: The Bridal Tapestry.

Although one wedding can entail months of work, seeing her clients' dreams come true rewards all the effort, Jacobs said.

"They'll come in, and they'll have a vision," she said of her clients. "We just help them complete that."

The Bridal Tapestry opened in April and provides alterations, customizations, specialized veils, headpieces and monogramming, among other services, she said.

The space on Main Street in Buda's downtown also offers a venue for receptions.

Among the emphases for the bridal shop in 2014 will be its custom veil line, monogramming, prom wear and its ready-to-wear offerings, Jacobs said.
