In November the U.S. Department of Education awarded Texas State University a $5.8 million grant that will be used to create and improve student success in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, or STEM, fields. The Hispanic-Serving Institutions–Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics and Articulation Program, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education, will provide about $1.138 million in each of the grant’s five years.
