August
Hay There, Scarecrow! Maker Studio Workshop
In this beginner-friendly class for ages 9 and older, participants can create 3D wooden scarecrows using layered wood and paint to create a unique piece of fall decor.
September
Wimberley Venue Crawl
The third annual showcase will feature more than 13 wedding venues and over 60 wedding professionals. Guests can enjoy refreshments, music, giveaways and more. Tickets include access to all events, tours, refreshments, vendor showcases, parking, and entry into a grand prize drawing for a chance to win a $500 credit toward a participating venue.
Native Plants Organic Gardening Class
Participants in the class will explore the ecological and practical benefits of incorporating indigenous flora into their gardens and learn which plants can be used to create a thriving, low-impact landscape.
9th Annual Emergency Preparedness Fair
In partnership with the city of Kyle, the Hays County Office of Emergency Services will host an event centered around community partners, local first responders and vendors to help residents prepare for natural disasters. Those in attendance can learn from hands-on training, safety demonstrations, preparedness resources, live entertainment and a Top Dawg Chili Cook-Off. Safety demonstrations will include Stop the Bleed, Hands-Only CPR, fire extinguisher training and more.
Junior Texas Water Safari
Taking place from San Marcos City Park to the Staples Hwy. 1977 bridge, the 16-mile water adventure offers canoeists and kayakers the opportunity to test their skills and prepare for the big Texas Water Safari the following summer.
Hays County Crime Stoppers Murder Mystery Dinner Fundraiser
The Hays County Crime Stoppers is hosting its fourth annual Murder Mystery Dinner and Silent Auction Fundraiser. The event will be Texas Western-themed and feature food, entertainment, silent auction items and a Murder Mystery presented by a professional performance troupe.
Railcar Revival
The Texas Country and Rock music festival in Buda will feature live performances from 15 artists, including Gin Blossoms, Clay Walker and Cory Morrow.
