From Independence Day celebrations to outdoor movie nights and a Taylor Swift-inspired summer concert series, check out some of the events taking place in San Marcos, Buda and Kyle this summer.

BEE2B Week
Hosted by the Buda Economic Development Corp. and Buda HIVE, BEE2B Week is designed to connect and grow Buda’s entrepreneurial community. The week-long event includes the Buda Early Entrepreneurs Market on June 20, Coffee with HIVE Cohorts on June 24, Entrepreneur Camp: Reach for the Stars and Buda-ful Fest: Entrepreneur Camp 2026 on June 26.
Families can enjoy movie nights on the big screen, swim and play outdoor games at this event hosted by the Kyle Parks and Recreation Department. The movie "Luca" will show June 26, and "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl" will play July 17. Registration is required.
Adults with disabilities are invited to join city of San Marcos officials in a themed dance party that includes DJ music, door prizes and more. Concession items will be available for $1.
The Juneteenth Foundation Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is hosting its first annual gala. Black tie or formal attire is requested, and Dwight David Watson, associate professor of history at Texas State University, will speak at the event.
Red, White & Buda
The city’s annual 4th of July event will include a day filled with a morning bike parade, bounce houses, live music, food trucks and more activities. The Independence Day celebration will end with a fireworks display at 9:15 p.m., with public parking available at Old Buda Elementary lower campus, Buda City Hall, Garison Park or downtown public parking.
San Marcos will launch fireworks from the UFCU Stadium to celebrate the USA’s 250th birthday. The best places to view the show include UFCU Stadium, City Park, San Marcos Activity Center and the San Marcos Public Library.
A fireworks show will take place at Lake Kyle Park at sundown, or around 9 p.m. Limited parking will be available at Lake Kyle Park, and additional parking will be available at Steeplechase Park.
The summer concert series will feature songs from the popular artist, Taylor Swift. Swifties are encouraged to bring picnic blankets while attending the event.
The Buda Chambers Theatre Company, the city of Buda and the Buda Arts Commission are partnering to present the live, outdoor musical production of "The Wizard of Oz" this July in the Buda Amphitheater & City Park. Concessions will be available for purchase.
The summer movie series continues with a showing of "Jurassic World Rebirth" at UFCU Stadium at Texas State University. Concessions are available for purchase, and participants are encouraged to bring blankets or chairs.
