In-person instruction at three Hays CISD campuses has yet to resume due to ongoing work necessitated by last week's severe weather.
A Feb. 23 news release from the district issued states that drying measures are still in place at Fuentes, Hemphill and Tom Green Elementary schools and that classes will remain 100% virtual for the remainder of the week.
The work is being done mainly to ensure moisture from broken pipes is completely dried, including inside the walls of the campuses.
The release states that the district is working with its insurance company to assess damage costs to buildings.
