Hays CISD votes in favor of 8 notable hires

On June 21, Hays CISD's board of trustees voted unanimously in favor of seven new hires.

Fernando Medina was selected as the district's new chief human resources officer.

“He is a highly accomplished and passionate bilingual educator with nearly three decades of experience in the classroom, as a campus leader, and as a human resources professional," Superintendent Eric Wright said in a news release. "Our district is lucky to have him on the team."

Stephanie Norris was hired as the district's new director of federal programs.

Maritza Gonzalez became the new director of guidance, college and career readiness.

Lehman High School's new academic dean is Pamela Harris, and the school also has a new assistant principal, Karissa Bearden.

Robert Hensarling was tapped to become Hays High School's new academic dean.

Michael Sneed was selected as Pfluger Elementary School's new assistant principal.

Negley Elementary School's new assistant prinicipal, Dominic Lake, was voted on separately, with trustee Meredith Keller voting against his appointment.
