Twelve of 13 Hays CISD campuses achieved state standards on the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness, or STAAR, exams in the 2015-16 school year. Hemphill Elementary School, 3995 E. FM 150, Kyle, was identified as requiring improvement, which means the campus did not meet one or more state mandated performance targets.
Scores reflect the first administration of the STAAR tests.
Because of computer problems with some STAAR tests, of the approximately 3 million students tested throughout the state in 2015-16, 14,220 scores for students who had computer problems were not used when calculating the campus and district accountability results.
