The Fairview, a specialty coffee shop at 817 Chestnut St., opened its doors Jan. 30, inviting San Marcos residents to stop in.

Owned by John and Whitney Sanchez, The Fairview serves third-wave or specialty coffee, teas, pastries, and healthy grab-and-go options. Whitney Sanchez said they focus on gluten-free and high-protein choices.

The Fairview also sells locally-roasted, ethically-sourced coffee.
