Hays County reports two COVID-19-related fatalities Nov. 22-29

Of those in the hospital, three are in the intensive care unit on ventilators, four are in the ICU without a ventilator, and the remaining six are not ICU patients. One vaccinated patient is in the ICU without a ventilator.

The total number of lab-confirmed cases in Hays County has now reached 30,374 since the beginning of the pandemic, of which 528 have occurred in the past 21 days.

Hays County reported 286,821 negative tests since the beginning of the pandemic as well as 406 fatalities.

The Texas Department of State Health Services now reports total vaccine counts based on those 5 years old and up instead of 12 years old and up. The total number of Hays County residents 5 years old and up with at least one vaccine dose is now 71.10%, and 60.75% of residents are fully vaccinated. About 99.99% of Hays County residents 65 years old and older received at least one dose, and 93.11% of that population is fully vaccinated.

Both Hays and San Marcos CISDs keep a COVID-19 dashboard of cases. Hays CISD currently does not have any active student or staff cases. There are not any closed campuses or classrooms actively in a remote learning situation.

San Marcos CISD also reported no active student cases and one active staff case. All campuses in the district are open.
