Signs up for new Target store at street level of Aspire San Marcos

The signs are installed for a new Target store at 101 Concho St., near the Texas State University campus in San Marcos.

According to Target, which is based in Minneapolis, the new 18,000-square-foot store will be part of the Aspire San Marcos apartment high-rise, which will serve as off-campus housing for students.

The apartment complex will feature fully furnished studio, two-, four-, and five-bedroom apartments as well as 13th-floor penthouse units.

The Target store is on the first level and includes parking for customers. Target has another store at Stonecreek Crossing, 700 Barnes Drive, San Marcos.

According to Aspire San Marcos, mural artwork will begin this month on the pool deck, and garage striping and sidewalks will be completed. The construction update on the corporate site said scaffolding will be removed in July, the leasing offices will be on-site, and furniture will be installed.

Other new retail, office and dining as part of the project is expected to be announced.
