For residents wondering what's happening on Main Street in Buda next to Cambria and Jordan's Food Truck park, the wait is nearly over. Mud Bugs A Cajun Joint owner Jeff Parks is slated to open his second business in Buda called J. Parks Saloon & Standard by mid-June at 407 E. Main St., Buda.
The new business was previously a house that has since undergone renovations and restorations for the past several months, a majority of which has been done using salvaged and repurposed materials. The saloon started as an idea in late 2021 with construction and demolition work mid-2022.
The saloon will have indoor dining which will be by reservation only and an outdoor bar area that will be first-come, first-served. The menu will feature a "Daily Dozen" much like at Mud Bugs, which are special dishes offered with limited servings per day.
"The food we're billing is elevated Texas soul," Parks said.
