Aviator 1518
Aviator 1518, an affordable housing complex located at 9120 E. FM 1518 N., Schertz is nearly ready to open for renters.
The first 27 units of the planned 300 will be released June 1, Manager Adriana Contreras told Community Impact. Contreras said the development will be fully constructed by the end of 2025.
The development is a partnership between the Schertz Housing Authority and The NRP Group, according to previous reporting by Community Impact.
Aviator 1518 is named due to its location on FM 1518 and its close proximity to Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph. Rent in the community will range from $794 to $1,797 per month, with a maximum income limit based on 70 percent of the area median income, Contreras said.
The apartment complex offers a variety of amenities, including a 24-hour fitness center, outdoor playground, picnic grills and business center. Each unit will have also have a full size washer and dryer, according to its website.

Collection Schertz Station will have its first townhomes available beginning in July, according to real estate investment company Embrey.
Embrey acquired 74 acres at Interstate 35 North and Cibolo Valley Drive in January 2024, with the site sitting behind the Santikos EVO property. The development will consist of 318 build-to-rent townhomes with units ranging from one- to three-bedrooms with attached and detached garages, according to Embrey.
Community amenities will include a pool, cabanas, lounge seating and a fire pit. Collection Schertz Station will also have an outdoor kitchen, onsite pickleball court, fully equipped fitness studio and clubhouse, according to the development's website.

The cold storage warehouse STX Frio will be coming to 22218 FM 2252 in Schertz this winter, according to developer Boomerang Industrial.
The 325,274-square-foot cold storage warehouse will have 42 docks, LED lighting, a Tyco Quell dry fire sprinkler system and a 200-foot-deep truck court with 68 trailer parking spaces and automobile parking.
The development will be available for lease, Boomerang added. The developer also crafted the Houston ColdPort, a 315,111-square-foot facility in Houston.
