The Cibolo Family YMCA Miracle Field will officially open April 21, bringing recreational activities catered to those with disabilities.
This project is a combined effort between the city of Cibolo and the YMCA of Greater San Antonio with additional sponsorships provided by H-E-B, Frost Bank, local school districts, The Lions Club, Schertz Bank, San Antonio Area Foundation & Santikos Entertainment and GVEC. Within these efforts, Cibolo voters approved a $500,000 bond in 2018 in support of the field.
Special guests for the event include Cibolo Mayor Stosh Boyle, Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD Superintendent Clark Ealy, Pastor Terren Phillips, YMCA District Vice President Fredy Degollado and more.
A Miracle League will be set up for the area, allowing children of all abilities an opportunity to play baseball and softball.
Alongside this project, an inclusive playground is in the works, which will be the largest accessible playground in the area, according to the YMCA of Greater San Antonio.
The grand opening ceremony will begin at 3 p.m. and is located at the Cibolo Sports Complex, 338 S. Main St., Cibolo.
