Everest Rehabilitation Hospitals officials on May 8 announced plans to construct a 40-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Live Oak.

According to a May 8 news release, this will be Everest’s third location in the San Antonio area.

About the project

The Live Oak location will be a two-story, 40-bed physical rehabilitation inpatient hospital located across from Methodist Hospital Northeast. The release states the hospital will serve patients recovering from:
  • Stroke
  • Brain injury
  • Neurological conditions
  • Trauma
  • Spinal cord injury
  • Speech impediments
  • Amputation
  • Pulmonary disease
  • Orthopedic injury
  • Other medically complex conditions
The hospital is expected to create over 100 jobs, providing an approximate $8 million per year in payroll.

A completion date for the project has not been established.
