On June 29, Methodist Hospital Northeast announced expansion plans with the addition of Methodist Plaza II, a second medical office building in the City of Live Oak.

According to the release, Methodist Plaza II will be a three-floor facility spanning over 73,000 square feet, and it will include a hospital-based outpatient surgery center with five operating rooms, robotic surgery capabilities and a cardiology imaging center.

The new facility will also be home to partners of the hospital, including the Alamo City Surgeons, the Cardiology Clinic of San Antonio, Northeast Pulmonary and Sleep Associates, Sports Medicine Associates of San Antonio and Virtuosa.

Cameron Howard, chief operating officer of Methodist Hospital Northeast said the new facility and developments will help provide the area with additional high-quality care and space to host top-of-the-line physicians who will assist in accommodating area growth.

“Methodist Plaza II is just the second phase in our current growth plans,” Howard said. “In addition to our freestanding emergency room coming to New Braunfels this August, our long-term vision includes building a third medical office building [near Methodist Plaza II] and increasing our medical capabilities here at the hospital as part of our facility master plan.”

According to Methodist Hospital Northeast, the expansion is estimated to be complete in July 2023.
