The 8th Annual RE/MAX Skylight Balloon Fest is coming to Selma Sept. 27-28. This event is produced by The Chamber (Schertz-Cibolo-Selma area) and River City Community Church.

The overview

The event will feature Skylight Market Days, food trucks, attractions, live concerts, family fun activities and hot air balloons.

Last year, the event brought in more than 16,000 attendees, 141 vendors and 15 hot air balloons, according to the event website.

While the event is over the course of two days, the balloons will be launched on the morning of Sept. 28 with gates opening at 7 a.m. and the event starting at 8 a.m.

No coolers, alcohol, tents or pets (excluding service animals) are allowed at the event, and attendees are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets for seating.

The balloon launch will be weather dependent, and excessive winds over 8 mph and low cloud cover can pose a risk to safety. Weather and event updates will be posted on the event Facebook page.

What else?

Aside from the balloon launch, activities will begin on the evening of Sept. 27 at 5 p.m. The evening of Sept. 28 will include performances from the RE/MAX Skydivers, Breakthrough Entertainment Acrobats and The Spazmatics.
