Cibolo residents wanting to cast their vote for the new Cibolo City Council Place 3 and at-large Place 7 seats will have the opportunity to vote early from Dec. 1-9.
On the ballot
The Place 3 runoff will be contested between Maria Fishback and Marissa-Ellen Patterson, and the Place 7 at-large runoff will be between Shari McDaniel and Summer-Marie Brown. According to the Cibolo Code of Ordinances, a runoff takes place between the two candidates receiving the most votes in an initial election if no candidate received 50% or more of the vote.
Early voting and election day voting will take place at Cibolo Fire Station #2 at 3864 Cibolo Valley Drive. Early voting hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 1 through Dec. 5 and Dec. 8 through Dec. 9. Election day poll hours will be 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., according to the city.
How we got here
According to official Place 3 election results from Nov. 4, Patterson received 488 votes, or 44.08%, while Fishback received 392 votes, or 35.41%. The initial four-person race for Place 3 also had Joe Armstrong with 135 votes or 12.20% and Charles Ruppert with 92 votes or 8.31%.
In the Place 7 race, Brown took 1,701 votes or 41.51%, with McDaniel receiving the second-most votes at 935 or 22.82%. Place 7 was also initially a four-person race, with Cody Hicks receiving 772 votes or 18.84% and Robert Mahoney receiving 690 votes or 16.84%.
