Two candidates have submitted filings to compete for Cibolo mayor.

On Nov. 4, the mayoral position will be contested between candidates Kara Latimer and Terry Hinze.

The winning candidate will replace Mark Allen in the role. Allen has served as Cibolo’s mayor since November 2022, according to the city's website. Communications Manager Janet Gonzalez told Community Impact that Allen has reached his term limit.

According to candidate filings, Latimer has lived in Cibolo for 22 years and Hinze has lived in Cibolo for 30 years.


Both candidates ran for mayor in November 2022. Latimer received 1,523 of 9,069 possible votes, or 16.79%, while Hinze received 1,033 votes, or 11.39%. Allen received 3,187 votes, or 35.14%, in that election.

Next steps

The Cibolo ballot for Nov. 4 will also feature races for the Place 2, Place 3 and Place 7 council positions.

Early voting in Guadalupe County will run from Oct. 20-31.
