The first week of early voting in Bexar County shows that an estimated 24% of registered voters have cast a ballot.

Breaking it down

According to the Texas Secretary of State, Bexar County has 1.295 million registered voters. Data released Oct. 27 by Bexar County shows 315,281 votes have been cast at 51 early voting locations countywide.

San Antonio residents cast the most votes with 259,772, followed by Helotes with 10,580 and Shavano Park with 8,297.

Northwest Vista College had the most votes cast during early voting with 12,814 votes, followed by Brookhollow Branch Library with 12,674 and the Encino Branch Library with 12,070.


Five of the 51 early polling locations had at least 10,000 voters during the first week of early voting.

Ballots feature several federal and state races as well as county races, which include Bexar County sheriff and Bexar County Precinct 3 commissioner.

What else?

In 2020, around 50% of registered voters cast ballots during early voting and another 15% cast ballots on election day.


According to the Bexar County Election Office’s website, registered voters are able to cast their ballot at any location countywide.
