The city of Schertz will have one contested City Council race on the Nov. 5 ballot.

The details

Following the Aug. 19 application deadline, the city of Schertz had three total applicants across two City Council seats.

Place 6 incumbent Allison Heyward will run against Robert Marks Jr. Marks is an Army veteran who was one of the candidates in the 2022 mayor election. Heyward has served as the Place 6 council member since 2018.

For City Council Place 7, incumbent Tim Brown will be running uncontested, meaning he will be sworn in for another term following the canvassing of votes. Brown has served this council seat since 2018.

The last day to register to vote in the election is Oct. 7. Visit www.votetexas.gov to check voter registration or register to vote.

Early voting begins Oct. 21. Information on polling locations can be found through the Bexar, Comal or Guadalupe county elections departments.
