What happened
During its Dec. 18 meeting, the Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD board of trustees unanimously approved Michael Gonzales to serve as the high school's new principal.
Gonzales had been serving as the interim principal at Samuel Clemens since July 21, initially appointed by Superintendent Paige Meloni, according to previous Community Impact reporting.
Other roles he occupied within SCUCISD include lead assistant principal at Byron P. Steele II High School and assistant principal at Veterans Memorial High School, according to a district news release.
