Judson ISD selects architect for long-term facility plan

According to board documents, the long-range facility plan will examine:

• Existing and proposed instructional programs
• The age and condition of buildings and systems
• History of completed capital improvement projects
• Site evaluations
• Educational specifications
• Enrollment projections
• Safety and security standards

Board President Monica Ryan asked JISD staff if the Texas Association of School Boards was solicited in the process. Corgan Associates was chosen over other bids from VLK Architects, Garza/Bomberger & Associates and Pfluger Architects.

Assistant Superintendent of Operations Daniel Brooks said the district did reach out to TASB, but for this particular service, he said the pricing was “not cheap.”

The Long-Range Facility Plan expires after five years from the date of the final plan presented to trustees. The plan must be updated prior to the commencement of a subsequent capital improvement project, board documents state.
