As part of the superintendent search, Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD officials are requesting community feedback for the qualities desired in a new leader.

A survey is open to residents, district employees and other stakeholders in the community. According to district officials, this survey will help develop a profile for superintendent candidates.

Questions within the survey revolve around the strengths of the district, its weaknesses and the characteristics the community is looking for while searching for a superintendent.

Superintendent Clark Ealy announced his retirement during a Sept. 12 board of trustees meeting.


On Oct. 5, the board of trustees held a special meeting to interview superintendent search firms, selecting the Texas Association of School Boards Executive Search Services as the search firm for the district.

The TASB and the board of trustees will open the position to potential candidates, and the board of trustees will conduct interviews for the next superintendent with the goal of having a replacement by the time Ealy retires Jan. 31.
