Wayland Baptist University, located at 8300 Pat Booker Road, Live Oak, celebrated an opening ceremony for the Ben and Bertha Mieth School of Nursing.

The school was named after Ben and Bertha Mieth, who gifted $2.5 million to Wayland Baptist University.

With the funding, the wing of the campus will have a SimLab where nursing students can learn with simulated emergencies. Funding will also help expand programs offered at the school of nursing, according to information from Wayland Baptist University.

According to the Wayland Baptist University website, the school of nursing offers bachelor’s and master’s programs for nursing students.
