The Judson ISD board of trustees held a special meeting March 27 to approve the rankings of the submittals for requests for competitive sealed proposals for Middle School No. 6.

Judson ISD staff ranked the three proposals from Spaw Glass the highest.

The proposal includes a base bid of $79.9 million and an alternate bid of $421,000. The total cost for the proposal is $80.32 million.

The base bid includes a new administration/classroom building; a new gymnasium; and all general construction, site work, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and all other work as indicated in the contract documents.

Alternate bids include synthetic turf in lieu of sod at the football field, an outdoor learning area, concrete in lieu of synthetic turf at the courtyard and brushed aluminum handrails in lieu of painted steel.

The project will be funded through bond funds approved in November.

Approval of the ranking will allow staff to proceed with the project details and scope of work.
